For the Gale Watch, west winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 35 kt and seas 3 to 6 feet possible. * WHERE...Long Island Sound east of Port Jefferson and New Haven, and Peconic and Gardiners Bays. * WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, until 6 AM EST Friday. For the Gale Watch, from Friday morning through Friday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Strong winds can cause hazardous seas which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners should consider altering plans to avoid possible hazardous conditions. ...ISOLATED STRONG WIND GUSTS OVERNIGHT... The passage of a cold front tonight will allow for increasing west winds. Isolated gusts to around 45 mph will be possible at times, especially right after the frontal passage. This could produce localized travel difficulties, as well as a few downed tree limbs.
